At You Can Do Sport we combine professional coaching with nationally recognised education to give every young person the chance to build a future through sport. Based at the YMCA Newark Campus our academy develops talent on and off the pitch by connecting sport, study and real career pathways.
What We Deliver
Clear pathways in sport and education built to move students into university, employment or professional environments.

Education Pathway
Students study the Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Sports Coaching and Development. It is delivered through our education partner Sysco Business Skills Academy, an Ofsted-rated Good provider with a strong track record in sports qualifications. Entry requirements | 5 GCSE Grade 4 and above, Maths and English resits considered.

Our biggest pathway. High-level coaching, competitive fixtures, proven university progression and pro-club opportunities. We currently have two competitve teams that play within a league structure, weekly.

Developing players through structured coaching, physical preparation and competitive experience. Built with our growing rugby partnership to create clear routes into clubs, further study and long-term athletic development.

Level 4 HNC in Sport, followed by the Level 5 HND in Sport. These programmes offer students the option to continue their higher education locally, maintaining continuity with familiar staff and the established campus environment. First HE sport route of its kind in Newark.

Building Futures Through Sport and Education
At You Can Do Sport we combine professional coaching with nationally recognised education to give every young person the chance to build a future through sport. Based at the YMCA Newark Campus our academy develops talent on and off the pitch by connecting sport, study and real career pathways.
You Can Do Sport has grown from a single idea into a leading academy combining elite coaching with recognised qualifications. Starting with one sport and a handful of students, it has evolved into a full college campus delivering football, boxing, netball, rowing, climbing, personal training and rugby programmes. Every pathway blends education, coaching and life skills to prepare students for university, employment and professional sport.
Today the academy works in partnership with Sysco Business Skills Academy to deliver BTEC and higher education programmes, helping young people gain UCAS points, degrees and career opportunities across the sport and fitness industry.
